Michael J
Michael J. Arnott is the newest member to The Ascension Quartet, joining
in 2009. Although he is the bass singer he has over
a 6 ½ octave vocal range.
Born and raised in New Jersey and in the Catholic
faith he became a born-again believer at age 16
after his family moved to Colorado. While
interviewing for a summer job at a Christian Bible
Camp he was led to Christ. His journey continued as
he attended Western Bible College, Colorado
Christian College, Southern Baptist University, and
Baptist Bible College. He began singing in college
touring choirs, quartets, and ensembles.
Michael’s interest in making music a career was
sparked when he won “Male Vocalist of the Year” at a
Branson Talent Contest in 1984. He continued
pursuing a career in music as an entertainer and
male vocalist working for multiple Branson Theaters
and shows spanning over the next 24 years including
working with Jerry Presley, Elvis’s cousin at the
King’s Mansion in Branson. Michael also worked as
director, entertainer and vocalist with the Texas
Opry House. Though performing other styles of music,
his desire was always to sing bass in a Southern
Gospel Quartet.
